Writes And Wrongs Of Article Writing
Article Writing - Read the Facts Every Writer Should KnowThe very first thing you need to do and the most important of all is to write a title that will catch the readers eye and entice them to go further.
Think of your title as your shop window, make it boring and uninviting and nobody will enter or in your case read about the goods or story inside. This is your starting point. Fail here and it will be at your peril.
Below are some hints to make the reader want to read on after you have gained their attention.
Do not waffle on. Try to keep your article to 850 – 1000 words. A wise man once said ‘if I had more time I would have written less’ We can all waffle on and press buttons on the keyboard but compacting your message so it is to the point and informative is much harder. Over do it and they will move on.
Do not make spelling mistakes. It tells the reader you can not be bothered with detail and getting things right, your article will instantly lose all credibility. Use your spell check and if possible get a friend to read it after you have finished. We often read our own mistakes but do not see them simply because we know what to expect.
Do not over hype your product or service. You may well think it is the best since sliced bread but telling your reader it is the ‘best ever’ will not impress them. Use facts to impress or examples instead.
Do stay focused. Many articles simply try to cover too much. They start with a title about an amazing product and before you know it they are talking about next doors cat. If you have two stories to tell, write two and submit them both.
Do make sure you include your web site link in the resource box of the article. This is your most important selling tool so make sure you include it.
Do read the article submission rules. Get that wrong and you have blown it at stage one.
There are many considerations to be given when submitting articles to sites. Follow these tips and you should see the benefits.
Happy submitting.
