Is Control4 Atlanta An Affordable Home Automation System Option'
If you are like the crowds that are jumping onthe home automation bandwagon...and are eager to
add it to a remodeling project or new home you
are building...then allow me to share what makes
Control 4 an option for affordable Home
automation equipment.
1) Control4 gives you the control to start off
with something simple. Not everyone can afford to
drop $50,000 for a home automation system up
front. Now while it is very possible to spend
that kind of money on home automation equipment,
you will not have to with the Control4 system.
Several of my clients started off with using the
Control4 system as one of those fancy universal
remote controls for their home theatre equipment.
They invest in a Control4 media controller now &
then simply add on additional home automation
features a little at a time as they can afford to.
In a few months they might add a few lighting
dimmers to coordinate with dimming while watching
a movie. Next year may consider controlling
security alarm & programmable thermostats.
Control4 will even give you the ability to add
glorious music in every room of your home. The
thing you need to remember is that you can start
off your home automation with affordable
equipment-- yet still have a system that can
eventually integrate all of your other systems
later on.
2) The Control 4 system allows you to turn on
your flat screen LCD and see a picture of your
entire DVD movie collection. It gets even better
when you combine the Control4 system with the
Sony 400 disc DVD player. The system accesses the
Internet and automatically looks for your
favorite DVD' movies cover art. Now you no longer
have to hunt down your favorite movies or worry
about them getting damaged by the kids. All of
your DVD's will always stay in the DVD player at
all times. All you have to do is turn on the TV
and with your Control4 Atlanta Media Controller
remote control-- simply click on the "movie"
button shown. You will automatically see a
picture of all of your favorite DVD movies.
Choosing a movie is as simple as clicking on the
picture of it & Control4 will do everything else.
You no longer have to fumble with 13 remotes all
at the same time.
3) Control 4 makes use of Ethernet connections,
Wi-fi, and a rarely heard of technology called...
Zigbee. Why is it called Zigbee' The name "
ZigBee" is comes from zig- zag movements made by
bumblebees as they jump from flower patch to
flower patch hunting for pollen. This is exactly
what the invisible webs of wireless connections
that exist in a Zigbee system are like. What is
great about the system is this...the more Zigbee
lighting dimmers and keypads you add to your
system...the stronger the connection will be
since each device will feed off of the next
devices signal. By the way, all of the Control4
light dimmers are Zigbee powered. The LCD keypads
may be hard wired via Ethernet or Zigbee based
depending on your particular situation.
4) How does Zigbee Technology benefit you' Zigbee
technology means that if you live in a two-story
home with a finished basement & an inaccessible
attic... most home automation companies would say
they couldn't help you without cutting a lot of
drywall. Thankfully by combining the Control4
Zigbee protocol and Wi-fi, you can add complete
home automation to your house including your
lighting, HVAC, security alarm and your favorite
movies too. Best of all, if you want to add music
in every room of the house there is something
that you can use called the Control4 Speaker
Point. It allows you to send remote audio
throughout your home without running any wires
back to the audio source. Again that means not
tearing up the house with holes and drywall dust.
5) The Control4 is simple and easy to use. You do
not have to have a technical diploma to use it.
In fact, I have had clients choose it over some
of the more expensive home automation systems
just because of how easy it is to work with.
