Planning A Beautiful Wedding On A Budget

A bride's wedding day is one she will never forget. She has certain ideas and plans, but sometimes those ideas can get pretty expensive. Here are some practical ways that you can create your dream wedding for less.

One thing you can do is to keep the guest list small. Your wedding is a day to celebrate your love. The ones that you will remember being there are the people who truly matter to you. So keep your guest list down to family and close friends. It is really not necessary to invite all of the people from your office. If you have a few close friends, you may want to include them. Bur for the most part keep it reasonable.

If your guest list is small, you should be able to afford reasonable invitations. If you are crafty or good on the computer, you could make them yourself. If you are very modern, or your event is going to be informal, you could even send out invitations via the Internet. There are many companies that will send out your electronic invitations for free and keep track of your guest list online. You can't get more affordable than that! If you want to send out traditional invites, keep them simple.

Flowers are another big wedding expense. Shop around to different florists and ask if they have any specials. Keep the bouquets simple and choose flowers that are in season. Skip the flowers at the ceremony or just have strategic vases scattered around.

When decorating for your wedding, keeping it simple will also save you a bundle. Get some of your family and your bridesmaids to help you with the decorations. Ask the reception hall and the ceremony site if you can come in the night before and set up. If your wedding is the first one, often they will allow you to do this.

Food at the reception can be quite costly, but going with a buffet style meal will cut your costs. You could also time your wedding to be in between meals and just serve hors devores. Informal weddings might even have a cook out in a family member's backyard or a local park. Don't be afraid to do something out of the ordinary. If you take a chance, your wedding will be talked about for years to come because it was different.

If you want to rent a limo, go for it. But, do not rent one for the entire wedding party. Just have a smaller limo or a town car for you and your new hubby. You will save money and also have a few precious moments alone before the excitement of the reception.

If you keep these few things in mind, you can have the wedding of your dreams without going over your budget.
