Facing A Change Of Life At The Change Of Life

So…what happens when a person decides to reinvent the "self" at a time when they should be thinking about starting to live off the fruits of their labor' What can cause a relatively "normal" person to just walk off from everything they have worked so hard for' Can there really be a life after life'

Up until I had reached the age of 50 I was always too busy to ponder these questions. I was happy, and successful in my career. I didn't want for anything but yet I had a pervasive feeling that I was "missing out" on something that my soul longed for. I came upon the realization that what I was missing, and what I needed, was to find the connection between self and Spirit. Some may find this connection through their religion; others may find it through other means; for me however, the only way to accomplish finding the connection was to leave behind everything that I knew and start over with my eyes looking toward the future and my feet following a spiritual path.

To say that this was an enormous undertaking is an extreme understatement. Some of the darkest nights of my soul occurred after my departure from my former life. One of the most powerful lessons that I learned regarding stepping out onto a spiritual path is that it is a solitary journey and once it's been started, there's no turning back. This may be one of the reasons why many choose not to do it. In the past, women made up the majority of those who "stepped out to step up" but today, a growing number of men are beginning their search for Spirit.

Do not expect others whom you have left behind to understand what you have done or your reasons for doing it. Take heart in the fact that you are following a plan that was drawn up for you long before you ever reached this incarnated state. The changes that are about to transpire won't always be easy, but if you really wanted "easy" then you would have been happy with who and where you were before. Put your trust in yourself for only you can know what really makes you happy.

If you find that you are in the midst of a change of life consider reading "When the Wheels Fall Off: The Metamorphosis of a New Age Man" (ISBN 1-4241-2749-1). In it you will read the true story of a metamorphosis including exercises designed to help you in your journey down your Spiritual path.

Bright Blessings,
